Welcome! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) with a passion for helping individuals better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and compassion.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in General Education from Lamar University in 2023, with a strong focus on psychology and family studies. My interest in human behavior, relationships, and the ways our experiences shape how we see ourselves and others continued to grow throughout my undergraduate education. This foundation ultimately led me to pursue a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University, which I completed in May of 2026.
I am currently practicing as an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Shana Mercer, M.Ed., LPC-S, while completing the required 3,000 supervised clinical hours toward independent licensure. My ongoing professional development allows me to continue learning and growing as a counselor while providing thoughtful, intentional care to the individuals I have the privilege of working with.
PERSONAL LIFE
Outside of counseling, I value the simple things that bring connection and joy to everyday life. I enjoy cooking, traveling, and reading, and I especially love spending time with my husband and our two sons. Our family is also kept on our toes by Taz, our feisty Chihuahua-Pug mix, who has certainly earned his place as a member of the family.
These parts of my life are important to me because they remind me that our well-being is influenced by more than the challenges we face. Joy, connection, relationships, hobbies, laughter, rest, and meaningful experiences all have a place in a fulfilling life.
MY APPROACH
My approach to counseling is grounded in humanistic principles and centered around connection, communication, compassion, and growth. I believe that every person has inherent worth and the capacity for growth, and I view each client as the expert in their own life.
Therapy is not about telling you who you should be or how you should live. Instead, I see my role as walking alongside you as you explore your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and work toward the goals that matter to you.
I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can be your authentic self. Together, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences while developing greater self-awareness and communication skills. I enjoy working with individuals who may be navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, self-discovery, or feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing grief and loss.
Grief can look different for everyone, and it does not always follow a predictable path. Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing a significant life change, or adjusting to a new chapter, you do not have to navigate those emotions alone. I believe grief deserves space to be acknowledged, understood, and processed with compassion. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can explore your experience of loss while finding ways to move forward without feeling that you must leave your grief behind.
Whether you are navigating a difficult transition, experiencing relationship challenges, struggling to communicate your needs, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, and move forward with intention.
