GETTING STARTED
Before your first session
Please use the "BOOK A SESSION" buttons found throughout the website. If you are having trouble, please call or email; these are found on the "Contact" page as well as the bottom of the website.
During our first session, we will review and complete the necessary intake paperwork, discuss the rules and limits of confidentiality, and establish guidelines for our therapeutic relationship. We will also talk about what brings you to therapy and identify the concerns, needs, and goals you would like to address. This initial session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and develop a treatment approach that feels appropriate and supportive for you.
Individual, Child, and Adolescent sessions are 50 minutes long. Family and Couples sessions are 1 hour (60 minutes) long.
Frequency depends on needs, goals, availability, and clinical recommendations.

Upon graduation, a therapist enters a period of supervised practice that is somewhat similar to a medical resident. As an LPC-Associate, I am licensed to provide counseling services while completing the required 3,000 supervised clinical hours before obtaining independent licensure. I am supervised by Shana Mercer, M.Ed., LPC-S. If you have any questions regarding my supervision, qualifications, clinical abilities, or confidentiality, please feel free to ask. I am happy to provide clarification and ensure that you feel comfortable and informed throughout the counseling process.
